“Something looks absolutely right until it doesn’t fit with you – as if you are the touchstone of truth, as if you are the criterion of truth. The moment it is not fitting with you, you think it is wrong. This is a wrong approach, and if you have this approach you will never arrive to that which is real. If something is not fitting with you, then don’t be in a hurry to settle the matter – don’t decide that it must be wrong because it doesn’t fit with you. It need not fit with you. Existence has no obligation to fit with you, reality has no obligation to fit with you. If it is not fitting with you, then a man of right understanding will change himself rather than deny the reality… So whenever it hurts, whenever reality hurts and you feel that you are not fitting, it is you who are not fitting, not the reality.”
-Osho, What the Buddha Said
I found this in my yoga teacher training note book from 3 years ago and it made me smile today. The clock keeps ticking for my next teacher training… have to get that in motion again.
